        Ukraine/Jordan

Ukraine: the trucks of the black land
In the farmyard of a small farm near Kiev, three men are fussing around an old Kamaz truck. Vova and his friends rent out their services as drivers to help make ends meet. Onboard their Soviet-era trucks, they head for the Ukraine's southern provinces, the country's bread basket. They need to transport a load of wheat to the Black Sea ports. Right now though, their only worry is which component on the ageing truck will break down first?

Jordan: the tanker trucks of the Wadi Rum Bedouins
A tanker truck makes its way across the Jordanian desert from the Wadi Rum to keep the distant villages and Bedouin camps supplied with water. As soon as the tanker is full, the truckers, a father and son team, set off on their "water tour". In a country in which water shortages are chronic, these men bring the peoples of the desert the vital resource they lack the most.
